1) Are you interested in Roleplaying?

It is very much something which intrigues me. I would be lying if I chose to say that I am passionate about it, but I love Roleplaying Games in general. I really enjoy immersing myself in any kind of story, and I feel I am a creative person with the skills necessary to succeed at roleplaying.


2) Please briefly explain what Roleplaying is.

Roleplaying is the creation of character within a fictional setting. You then immerse yourself into the story of the character you have created. Friends are made, decisions carry weight and your story develops.


3)What RP experience (if any) have you had?

Other than playing RPG's on the computer, very little.


4)Please state three rules of RP.

Out of character conversation is reserved for the appropriate time/place.
Physical harm of another character is only acceptable with their express permission.
Use common sense. People don't wander around with their names floating above their heads.

Ah, hello there! No doubt if you’re reading this, you are probably very interested in applying to join the Shatterskull Marauders, a blood thirsty, slightly manic warband, might I say with an affinity for fighting, drinking and plunder! Sound like your kind of thing? If so fill out these simple questions and we’ll get back to you! Make sure you fill them out in as much detail as possible – though we don’t want your life story. You can save that for another day!

Don't worry at all, it's almost impossible to fail this application! We just want to know a bit more about you, that's all.

1)First of all, it’s really helpful if you share with us your name. Your full name preferably. Silly nicknames to be added afterwards. Don’t ask about my own - long story involving a party trick...

Simotaur Ragetotem. Although you would do me a great honour by calling me Sim, or Si.


2)So from what race do you hail?

The mighty children of Mulgore; the Tauren.


3)Tell us a little bit about yourself, keep it short, simple and snappy. Sum up your life so far!

Hmph. A little about myself you ask? Peace. Honour. Tranquility. We tauren are not warlike by nature, but fierce when brought to anger. I trained from an early age in the art of combat and nigh fifty years have I lived in harmony with the Earth Mother. My youth filled with rites of passage, oaths and nights of soft chanting in reverence of the Earth Mother. By day I would study combat, learning the grasp of a shield, the subtle arts of dodging and parrying. Soon after leaving my tribe I joined a warband of other adventurers and together we travelled the globe, attempting to bring some balance to a world filled with chaos.


4)What do you specialise in? Fighting? Magic? Dodgy deals? What is your area of expertise?

Pah. Magic? A tauren warrior hath no need for spells. A sharp blade and a sturdy shield are all I need to survive. Not a soul can accuse me of shying away from battle once it is unavoidable. Famed I was for being in the thick of the bloodshed, plate mail glinting in the flickering torchlight of dungeons dank. Always at the forefront, taunting the enemy so as to make sure my comrades would not fall.


5)The Alliance, The Scourge and The Burning Legion; What are your personal feelings about these forces?

The oath I swore in allegiance to The Horde binds me to my fate of a life of war against The Alliance. We tauren are slow to warm to any race, but I hold no qualm with the Alliance as a whole – merely those that transgress against the Earth Mother.

The Scourge! HAH! What an apt name for such an abominable force. Fel magicks bind their rotten corpses together. A scourge on the earth indeed. Before I finally lay my hooves to rest, I will see to it that this filth is eradicated from this world.

The less I talk about The Legion the better; tauren rage is not something that many live to reflect upon, and nothing in the land defiles my senses as much as this disease, this corruption of the blessed earth.


6)What is your most prized possession?

An amulet once given to me by the mighty Cairne Bloodhoof, may he rest in peace. Engraved in the stone it reads; “Alo Nokee Washte ishtea shne po, ich neahoka po wa owa pikialo tawaporah.”

In Orcish it would read; “The Earth Mother watches over us, and reminds us of our honoured ancestors.”

The great tauren Cairne now joins our ancestors in the earth, this amulet reminds me now more than ever of where we come from, and where we return to.


7)How did you hear about the warband?

Two friends from days of old; Pinback and Grimgutz. Both have saved my life more times than a Tauren like me can remember. Although, my axe has been swift to deal out death to those who have threatened them.


8 ) Why do you wish to join the warband?

Allies will make me stronger. With the new strength I will be able to take the fight to the forces of corruption in the world. The forces of evil will rue the day they ever heard of Simotaur Ragetotem, mark my words.


9)Why should we take you?

Another reason aside from me being a capable, honourable, stalwart warrior? I have a kindness in me which is all too rare in these hard times. Should you prove yourself to be worthy of my friendship, I will follow you into the clutches of death itself.

Thanks for applying to the Shatterskull Marauders! Should you successfully pass the IC part of our interview, we may require some additional information to help us work out the best options for Marauder Raiding, RP and PvP. So if it’s possible could you please answer the questions which apply to you below:

1)Where did you hear about us?

Pinback and Grimgutz. However, being on TvC since 2007 (or 2008, I forget), I have been aware of SSM for some time.

2)What do you hope to find in the Shatterskull Marauders?

A good laugh, friendly atmosphere and no loot-whores.

3)Do you intend to raid? If so you should contact Sylphi, our raiding officer and check the raiding section of the forums once you've been initiated.

My gametime will be restricted until June. I live at my college, and the connection doesn't allow WoW. I would like to raid in the Summer (and after) but until then I will probably only PuG.

4)Do you intend to PvP?If so Thrakha, our PvP officer will have all the details about current PvP happenings.

PvP is not a passion for me. I like to go for a laugh, but I stay in Prot Spec and stun, stun, stun!

Good app, as long as he is fine following orders from soon-to-be-chieftain-ghost-orc - I say yus! Well...even if he isn't I suppose that's still alright...I guess that's still alright...it's alright.

Cringed at the word hath, but he can spell and use rhetorical questions.

Which makes him pretty much the Second Coming of Jesus, looking at some other applications.

Ah...yeah. Been playing a lot of Baldur's Gate recently, and it's all hath, thou and art. In hindsight it was a bad choice, doesn't really fit in with my character.
