OUT OF CHARACTER
As we are a roleplaying guild, we will only take those applicants on who are enthusiastic about RP. You don't have to be a lore know-it-all, or turn into a walking dictionary to join us however some basic knowledge is prefered. The Marauders however wont hesitate to educate you on what you need, considering you're willing to learn! We do also offer a raid team, and a PvP team that you will have the chance to join if you are accepted into the Marauders.
(Q): Please note any RP experience you have (The Marauders are willing to help you if you lack experience considering you are willing to learn!)
(A): I spent two years in Army of the Damned/The Frozen Covenant (serving as an officer for six months to boot) and about a year and a half to two years in Wild Tempest (and still maintain an active character or two there).
(Q): Why do you want to join us?
(A): I've spent all my RP time as an Alliance character and feel it's time I experienced what the Horde has to offer.
(Q): What is your own definition of roleplay?
(A): To create an ever evolving character and story and bring them to life for the enjoyment of yourself and others.
(Q): What do you think makes a good roleplayer?
(A): Some one who can make their character seem real and alive, but still keep IC and OOC separate.
(Q): Do you wish to raid with us? If so what experience do you have.
(A): Not really.
(Q): Are you interested in PvP such as rated battlegrounds and arena groups? If so, what experience do you have with these
(A): I enjoy the odd W-PvP skirmish every now and again but beyond that I'm not big on PvP.
(Q): How did you hear about the Shatterskull Marauders? (Forum, friends, ingame etc)
(A): From the DefiasRP forum, chat from guild mates in Wild Tempest and a couple of in game skirmishes from the W-PvP campaigns in the past.
IN CHARACTER (Meaning it's a dialog)
Greetings potential Marauder. It is required of you to answer a series of questions in moderate detail so we can assess your suitability to us. We are a warband built on bloodthirst, strategy, honour, strength and respect. If you lack these, you are not the candidate for us. However, if you think you have what it takes, carry on!
(Q): Please state your name and the race that you hail from.
(A): Vivica Blackblade, one of the Forsaken. (OOC name is Vivca, had to drop a letter as name was already taken)
(Q): Why do you wish to join the warband?
(A): I desire three things in my Unlife; Blood, Purpose and Allies to watch my back. Your Warband offers all three.
(Q): While with us, you will be required to fight. Are you willing to fight to the best of your ability for the sake of the Horde and the warband?
(A): I always have and always will give my all, what is the point otherwise?
(Q): Please tell us a bit about yourself, this can be personal history, hobbies, or anything.
(A): I was once a Knight of Lordaeron and fell defending my Kingdom during the third war. A few years ago I was raised into my current state in Acherus and subsequently rebelled against the Lich King. Along with the rest of my brethren I fought in Northrend until the Lich King fell. Since then I've simply been drifting from place to place, battle to battle. To occupy my mind I've taken up engineering and have picked up a fascination with Gnomish contraptions and Siege Weaponry. A bit short I realise, but I never was very remarkable; a simple woman with a simple life.
(Q): We are considered an elite fighting force amongst the Horde. What have you trained and specialized in? What makes you unique in combat?
(A): I am, as should be apparent from my previous answer, a Death Knight of the Ebon Blade. I've become rather skilled with my Frost magic and picked up a few tricks here and there from the other two "schools" of magic my kind wield. To top it off I wield two short swords, I find their speed and precision preferable over the brute force of two handed weaponry.
(Q): We as a warband are not fond on cowardice, disobedience, or lack of strength. How will you plan to prove to us you lack these traits during your initiation period?
(A): By standing resolute in the face of danger, by shelving any personal thoughts to see the will of my superiors done and by drowning our enemies in their own blood.
The Alliance have launched an assault on the Horde of vast proportions. Your home city is under siege, you are defending the walls against your race's foes.
Caught on patrol whilst trying to reach you, your friends in the Marauders are taken prisoner by the Alliance, and in time will be executed. Your people will never allow you to leave; you can only abandon your post in secret. Leaving your post leaves a blind spot in your city’s defenses, one the Alliance are sure to notice and use to break through the walls.
If you rescue your friends, there is no chance you will be able to re-enter your city.
There is no chance the other races of the Horde can send military forces to your home city as they are fighting on their own fronts.

(Q): Do you abandon your post and leave your city to die or do you break out under cover of darkness to rescue your friends?
(A): A difficult question, one with no correct answer. To leave my post would see me a dishonourable traitor, nothing more than scum. But those who would abandon their friends are worse than scum, or so I was once taught. In truth it depends. Should I come to truly consider these people friends then yes, I would abandon my post for them. But if they were simply comrades, people I fought alongside but did not care a great deal for then I would uphold my honour and duty and remain at my post. Perhaps not the most favourable view of myself but I will not mince words or lie one way or the other.
