OUT OF CHARACTER
As we are a roleplaying guild, we will only take those applicants on who are enthusiastic about RP. You don't have to be a lore know-it-all, or turn into a walking dictionary to join us however some basic knowledge is prefered. The Marauders however wont hesitate to educate you on what you need, considering you're willing to learn! We do also offer a raid team, and a PvP team that you will have the chance to join if you are accepted into the Marauders.
(Q): Please note any RP experience you have (The Marauders are willing to help you if you lack experience considering you are willing to learn!)
(A): I have been roleplaying outside of Warcraft every now and then for the last 9 years. I can't really remember when I started having main characters on RP-realms, but it was during vanilla, and then full time RP-realm player since Wrath of the Lich King.
(Q): Why do you want to join us?
(A): I have never role-played on the Horde faction before. I have role-played the honour/pride based Alliance characters many times, but I'm hungry for a little more dirty roleplaying. I want bloodthirst, war and death this time around.
(Q): What is your own definition of roleplay?
(A): For me it's committing to your character, and thinking as your character. Characters with depth are the most interesting ones. It's surprising yourself with what choices your character makes and how he reacts.
(Q): What do you think makes a good roleplayer?
(A): I'm a dedicated roleplayer. Roleplaying is one of the main reasons I recently decided to start playing World of Warcraft again. I also took drama and performed in theaters at a younger age, and I'm a very open person. I want to get to know my character(s).
(Q): Do you wish to raid with us? If so what experience do you have.
(A): Yes, sure. To be honest, dungeons and raids are not the reason I play WoW. But I used to be an extreme raiding geek during Vanilla, up to Teir 2. I was in one of the best guilds on my server back then and put down many many hours into the game. I'd like to explore the raids nowadays, but it's not really what I'm here for.
(Q): Are you interested in PvP such as rated battlegrounds and arena groups? If so, what experience do you have with these
(A): Yes, PvP on the other hand is something that I enjoy. When I returned to WoW during the first half year of Cataclysm I was in a PvP guild on the Alliance side of this server. But I felt that PvP had gone downhill since early WoW, since it's so gear-based nowadays.
During Vanilla I was in the best PvP guild on the Alliance side of my server back then. If I remember correctly I got to the highest rank on my Warlock. Those were great times.
(Q): How did you hear about the Shatterskull Marauders? (Forum, friends, ingame etc)
(A): I heard about you in-game, general chat in Orgrimmar!
IN CHARACTER (Meaning it's a dialog)
Greetings potential Marauder. It is required of you to answer a series of questions in moderate detail so we can assess your suitability to us. We are a warband built on bloodthirst, strategy, honour, strength and respect. If you lack these, you are not the candidate for us. However, if you think you have what it takes, carry on!
(Q): Please state your name and the race that you hail from.
(A): Holin Ironstout. Pandaren.
(Q): Why do you wish to join the warband?
(A): I want to fight for the Horde. I want more gold than I can imagine. I want to see bloodshed. Is that reason enough?
(Q): While with us, you will be required to fight. Are you willing to fight to the best of your ability for the sake of the Horde and the warband?
(A): Yes. I'm sorry, but that is a silly question. Anyone who does not reply yes to this question should be brutally killed, skinned and made into a fancy pair of boots.
(Q): Please tell us a bit about yourself, this can be personal history, hobbies, or anything.
(A): I have always been a disappointment to my family. My kin sees me as a misfit. I'd liked to think that I was only misunderstood, and joining the Horde is the wisest choice I have ever made.
My father, who was a master in the martial arts of the monk thought that teaching me in his ways would make me more attuned to the Pandaren way of living. But I fear that this did not work.
My biggest hobby is killing. I mostly kill animals, since there are a lot of them. Then I take their skins and sell them. Killing makes me feel at peace. I also enjoy very strong ales.
(Q): We are considered an elite fighting force amongst the Horde. What have you trained and specialized in? What makes you unique in combat?
(A): My father taught me in the ways of the monk. I fight best with at least a barrel of ale in my belly. This sharpens my senses. And as I mentioned before, taking lives is one of my biggest interests.
(Q): We as a warband are not fond on cowardice, disobedience, or lack of strength. How will you plan to prove to us you lack these traits during your initiation period?
(A): I would kill anyone with the lack of what you mentioned if I got the chance.
The Alliance have launched an assault on the Horde of vast proportions. Your home city is under siege, you are defending the walls against your race's foes.
Caught on patrol whilst trying to reach you, your friends in the Marauders are taken prisoner by the Alliance, and in time will be executed. Your people will never allow you to leave; you can only abandon your post in secret. Leaving your post leaves a blind spot in your city’s defenses, one the Alliance are sure to notice and use to break through the walls.
If you rescue your friends, there is no chance you will be able to re-enter your city.
There is no chance the other races of the Horde can send military forces to your home city as they are fighting on their own fronts.
Time is growing short...
(Q): Do you abandon your post and leave your city to die or do you break out under cover of darkness to rescue your friends?
(A): This is a very unlikely scenario for me. But yes, I would let my city burn. Little else satisfies me as much as seeing the ones that have wronged me bleed.
